Digett Adds New Designer/Developer to Team

Digett, a Boerne-based web design firm, welcomes Joe Montanino to its team, bringing Digett's total count of full-time web professionals to ten. Joe is an accomplished web designer, flash developer, and is expanding his skills to include advanced HTML/CSS and PHP. Joe officially joins the Digett team next Thursday.

I made contact with J20 Designs today, and hope to be having lunch with Jim, the owner, next week. He tends to target a smaller customer than does Digett, and am hoping to learn more about their core strengths. They have a large portfolio, though I'm not sure how so many web sites were created in the company's short history. I'll provide updates as I learn more.

Hot off the Press: August Boerne Business Monthly

Ben Schooley is doing a great job with his Boerne Business Monthly, the second edition of which came out today. Be sure and check out my article on page 20, or read it here.

New Boerne Publication

Boerne Today is a new web publication aiming to corner a good piece of local and tourist eyeshare. Digett has been working on this concept for well over a year, and finally launched a first iteration with minimal content and functionality at the beginning of this month. Word has it that this month a community calendar will make its debut, and September will see a full-fledged business directory. The search is also out for a full-time staffer.

Boerne Web Design - A Primer

The web marketing industry in Texas is flourishing. With the exception of the West Coast, few areas are more active than Austin, just up the road from Boerne. San Antonio, however, has lagged, with only a few notable firms making much of a wave. Crawl a few miles northwest on I-10 to Boerne and you might expect to find very little in the way of recognized web firms. With one exception you'd be right there, too. But as the Boerne area population explodes, so will competition in the web design industry. I'll chronicle the industry as seen through the eyes of an industry veteran.
