He tends to target a smaller customer than does Digett, and am hoping to learn more about their core strengths. They have a large portfolio, though I'm not sure how so many web sites were created in the company's short history. I'll provide updates as I learn more.

Hot off the Press: August Boerne Business Monthly

Ben Schooley is doing a great job with his Boerne Business Monthly, the second edition of which came out today. Word has it that this month a community calendar will make its debut, and September will see a full-fledged business directory. The search is also out for a full-time staffer.

Career Moves

Congratulations to Hector Carrillo, who accepted a position at the Web Head Group in San Antonio.

Boerne Web Design - A Primer

The web marketing industry in Texas is flourishing. With the exception of the West Coast, few areas are more active than Austin, just up the road from Boerne. San Antonio, however, has lagged, with only a few notable firms making much of a wave. Crawl a few miles northwest on I-10 to Boerne and you might expect to find very little in the way of recognized web firms. With one exception you'd be right there, too. But as the Boerne area population explodes, so will competition in the web design industry. I'll chronicle the industry as seen through the eyes of an industry veteran.
